*"Sparks" Video*
According to everyone I asked (ok, so its only 2 people *g*) MuchMusic has had the video for "Sparks Are Gonna Fly" for a while now, and have supposedly played it once or twice. I guess they found a moment to squeeze it in somewhere between the latest Britney Spears video, and a special on what the Backstreet Boys eat for dinner.
So, if you'd like to see the vid, flood Much with requests! Email them at ondemand@muchmusic.com and put "Catherine Wheel:Sparks Are Gonna Fly" (or something to that effect) in the subject line.
*New York, New York*
New York City is getting sick of me. I made yet another trip there recently, and caught the 2 shows the band played at the Bowery Ballroom. Did I take any pics? No! Don't ask. I had my camera with me too, but forgot until I got back to my room. It was a fun trip altogether (saw another taping of Conan O'Brien too the next day, woo!) But um ya.. got the same reaction from everyone: "But we're going to be in Toronto soon" lol.. Oh, and I havent seen too many reviews of the NY shows, tho I met a buncha ppl there who are on the net. Just a few highlights: Tuesday's show kicked Monday's show right in the ass. They played Strange Fruit and Intravenous on Tuesday.. and Andrew from Geneva (who opened for them on the first leg of their tour in 1997) came out and sung along wRob for Ma Solituda (Tuesday's show, not Monday's). The now infamous "Time Out" article everyone is going on about, Rob commented on at Monday's show and ended it with, "If anyone here is from Time Out, then F*** You".. At Tuesday's show, 2 fans got engaged on stage (congrats u two!), while the setlists for both nights were similar, they didnt play ALL the same songs, and its the first time I've seen them totally scramble up the order of the songs for both nights... which made the show a bit more enjoyable for those of us who were there both nights... and the crowd wasn't nearly as fanatic as Toronto crowds.. which I couldn't get used to, lol ;-)

*More on Summersault 2000*
For the uninformed, Summersault is a festival, started by the Canuck band, Our Lady Peace. They pick a buncha bands they like, and go tour across Canada w/them. Must be nice ;-) This is the 2nd year they're doing this festival (first was in 98). But, why listen to my scattered factoids?
Check out Summersault 2000's Official Site.
There is a message board there also, look for me as the often ranting, and sometimes raving, 'flower2hide' ;-)
*Wishville @ MuchMusic.com*

*'Sparks' Video Update*
The video has been delayed, due to the fact that its still being edited, or some suchness. We will hopefully be seeing it in a few weeks ;-)

April.20/2000 -
*'Sparks' Video Shoot*
The shoot lasted the whole day into the night. The extras all had to dress in white (or at least white tops), and "bounce" in "unison" (directors repeated words) to the band on stage. Many legs I'm sure were in pain the next day ;-) I didn't quite catch the whole concept of the video. Something about the world running out of oxygen, and then the ppl left over .. uh.. I dunno.. throw on some white clothes, and get to go to a CW concert? lol.. Either way, the video is supposedly going to air sometime around May 20th. Oh.. and ya, I got my wish, and just hung out ;-) Almost.. I was conned into joining in on a few last takes. I doubt I'll get in any shots.. but if I do, you'll so be able to see me. I'll be the only one there in all black.. hahahaha. Only me.
April.15/2000 - (lotsa news)
*We'll Miss You Dave*
Well, There is more than enough News to keep me here typing this for a while. No thanks to more coherent public resources, you may or may not know that, our beloved Dave Hawes is no longer in the band. He was let go back in November, but Rob mentioned it on some Boston radio station in Feb. and I guess thats supposed to magically mean that everyone knows about it now. Me? Bitter? Noooooo. There is a lot I could probably put here about this, and ya.. I probably will someday. I saw them again on the 12th in Toronto.. and, it wasn't the same without Dave there on stage (smiling and waving to everyone like he always did). I wasn't alone however, for many of us after the show voiced our thoughts on what an odd experience it was.. and how it just didn't feel the same... and ya, the main reason we were all so sad was because, it wasn't his choice to go :-( So, Dave, I know I've already told you this a zillion times but.. We all miss you tons, and it's just not the same without ya there.
Since I personally feel the announcement of this wasnt handled well, I'm going to set up a little section on here about it (cos unless you read the msg board at their Official page when it was announced, you don't have a clue whats going on)... with a little added info on the new guy, because not much info has been given out on him besides his name... so I don't think its fair to either one of them....
Ok.. So I'm bitter about almost every aspect of this whole situation!.. and I'm a bit torn.. and all the rest. But I'll shush about that now, and get on with the rest of the news, for those of you who may not care as much about this as I do (I've already gotten enough crap for it!)..
*Toronto Listening Party for "Wishville"*
They held a "secret" listening party here in Toronto on April 11th.. to hear the new album in an intimate setting, with the band. I somehow won a pass to this, so I decided to go and check it out. The band was fashionably 40 mins late, and stayed for 20 mins.. So, I guess we really only got to listen to the last part of the album with them *g* It was a cozy comfy setting, filled mainly with industry types, and the odd fan. I didn't talk to any members of the band, but Brian, who came up to me and said "Hey I remember you.. you're the one who never talked.. and you've changed your hair." What a freakin memory on this guy! (the last time I saw them was in Dec.1997) I talked to him a couple times throughout the lil event.. and then they left, to go to the radio station. So everyone went over to the station.. and only Rob and Neil stayed for the interview. It was the basic run-of-the-mill interview. A little lame... No mention of Dave. Hmph. Looks like this radio station has lost its "Edge" (horrible pun intended). Oh, I guess someone may want my opinion on the new album (it was the first time I got to hear it). Ya.. I actually did like it. I'm TRYING to be bitter over here.. It's hard to not like something, when you keep .. well, liking it!
*Toronto Video Shoot for "Sparks Are Gonna Fly"*
CNE - Horticultural Building.. April 18th at 1pm. Enter at Dufferin Gate. Wear light clothes w/no CW logos (or any logos for that matter).. Bring your ticket stub from the show just in case
My Note: I want to go to this, but I don't really want to be IN the video.. Can I run the crafts table? lol... I've been an extra in shows/movies too many times before (it became my part time job sorta) and quit because I totally hated it. I'd like to go to this tho... Just to hang out. Ah well... You all know where it is now. I'll be the girl, asking everyone if she can just hang out...lol
*New Album*
If you came here for info on the new album, then you really must be out of the loop huh? j/k... The new Dave-less album (thats right.. he didn't even work on it) is entitled "Wishville" (the working title was "Anybody Hurt", which I like a lot better, for obvious reasons..*g*). It's due out in stores in North America on May 23rd (the week after my birthday.. yes, I know you care). It's only 9 tracks long.. They just finished a short little promo tour (did ya know Toronto is their biggest market in North America? ok, you prolly did).. and will be back in June or so, for their real lengthy tour.
*THE Catherine Wheel*
Yes, folks.. That's right. They'll now be known as THE Catherine Wheel. Funny, cos I always hated when anyone would refer to them as that.. I'd snap back and go "no.. its Catherine Wheel.. Not The Catherine Wheel." Now I guess people will be snapping at me ;-)
*The New Guy*
The new guy's name is Ben Ellis. He was the 10th guy they auditioned? Something like that.. Like I said, I'm putting a section up here on the whole thing.. Dave (*sigh*).. Ben (comin soon).. neither one of them have gotten proper publicity for anything. I know this site isnt exactly what I would ever consider as "proper publicity", but at least it's something.
