Hi! Welcome to Paul Reubens' Basement (His real basement sounds like a much cooler place click here to see why) My lil tribute to Paul Reubens. The man we all (well, me and a ton of other people) know and love, as Pee-wee Herman. Why did I make this page? Aside from the fact that it aids my insomnia.. I enjoy doing pages for actors who I think deserve way more recognition on the net, and if anyone deserves some more good recognition, its Paul.
So why Paul Reubens? Well, to put it simply - He's amazing! A true genius. I'll admit its taken me almost 20 years to realize this.. but thankfully I finally did, and now I'm here, clogging up the internet with yet another fan page.
So now that I've said my piece, sit back.. relax.. and enjoy the brilliance that is Paul Reubens :-)
- The Fox Family channel in the US has stopped showing Pee-wee's Playhouse!
- Paul has signed to host a game show based on the CD ROM game, You Don't Know Jack
- The Groundlings 25th Anniversary Festival is over now. Did anyone go??
- Paul will co-write with Valerie Curtin (Toys), another Pee-wee movie (yay!!) entitled The Pee-wee Herman Story, where we'll see how Pee-wee deals with fame
For more detailed info on some of the stuff noted here (and other things), check out the News section.
Did you know?...
- Pee-wee's Playhouse won 25 Emmy awards (3 of those for his acting) (I've read different numbers on the net, so if this is wrong, can someone let me know the actual amount of Emmys the show won? Either way, its a lot!)
- Paul was nominated for an Emmy for his recurring role on Murphy Brown
- Pee-wee's Big Adventure was Tim Burton's first feature film
- Paul had total creative control on Pee-wee's Playhouse
- Pee-wee's Big Adventure cost $6-7 million to make, and earned over $40 million at the box office
- Paul recently received the Ernie Kovacs Award at the Dallas Video Festival for his acheivments with Pee-wee's Playhouse
One of the DJ's from a local radio station went to New York to interview the cast of Mystery Men. So I emailed him and asked how it went, and he wrote back and summed up his trip for me  -
"New York is wonderful, Garofalo is a babe, and
Pee-Wee was a dream"
Well, I said I'd write more about the interview when they air it. But they only ended up airing Janeane's interview. Gotta luv Janeane though.. So I taped it anyway :-)
